Had this iron for just over a year and quit working for no reason! Expensive and not impressed with the fact it was never abused at all!

I'm on my third one, I"m lucky my hairdresser is supportive. The first one wouldn't turn on after only a few months, the second one quit on me just shy of a year and now I'm on my third (touch wood). It's a great iron but moody.

I am very disappointed this avanti croc iron died again. Just after a few minutes of using, a little beep is heard ERR appears and iron shuts itself off. It might be unfortunate and rare for this to be the third defective iron in less than one year but it is true and I have never abused this iron. I treat it so. so carefully and in a fragile manner...It's kind of like love hate relationship. You see, I love the way this iron does my hair but..maybe it is time to say goodbye...This iron is not cheap, over $159 with all the tax and postage and really, it should be more reliable but.....This iron is not even one year old so it is time to say goodbye. I am disappointed because I really do like this iron. I do look great with what it can do when it works. I know FABOVE is only the dealers and do not make this iron, and they do honor the warranty to send me new iron every time, but I still need to pay to return. how can I complain to avanti?

I bought this flat iron last year, and I can honestly say that this is the best flat iron I have used to date. Reduced overall styling time (as it was a 2-in-1 product)and made my hair look smooth, shiny, and sleek straight. After almost (but not quite) a year of using this flat iron, it shut off and refused to turn back on. It used to begin heating up and stoppind midway, but I can;t even get it to turn on anymore. I've tried high and low toget a refund, but sadly, my hairdresser does not provide me warranty. For nearly $300, I would have expected this flat iron to last much longer. So disappointing.

I absolutely loved this straightener as I had a Chi and everything before and nothing straightened my curly super thick hair. It also stays straight after using this straightener instead of poofing after an hour. But Ive only had it since dec and its begining of july now and it wont turn on anymore. Just randomly quit. It hasnt even been used much. This is insane. I dont have money to buy another they arent cheap.

I love this hair iron, it's by far the best one I've ever had. BUT after a year, same thing, just died out of no where. I could not find the invoice or my receipt. So I researched for a different one, but I ended up buying the same one AGAIN!!
I love my avanti ultra and have had it about a year using it quite often..but recently it wont heat up past 69 degrees. It will turn on and stay at 69 degrees for about 20 secs then says "ERR" and shuts down, someone please help on how to fix this!!

This iron is great. I 've used this flat iron for two years and i am very happy for its performance. Unfortunately this morning it would only go up to 230 degrees. No matter how many times I press the "up" button, it remains stuck at 230 degrees and won't change. I am very upset now.
Editor's Note: A few Avanti Ultra flat irons, including this model WD-AVCORC, have two temperature settings - Celsius and Fahrenheit. These irons have a temperature capacity of 230 degrees Celsius or 446 degrees Fahrenheit (shown on the temperature display as 450 degrees). The display format can be changed to show the iron's temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on the customer's preference. Occasionally, the format setting is changed accidentally. If your flat iron suddenly won't heat higher than 230 degrees, it probably means the setting has been switched from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The change will not affect the iron's performance. You can easily switch it back to Fahrenheit format if you prefer to. Read this blog article for more details.

I am a black woman with lower than shoulder long corse really curly hair... I use chemical straightner (dark and lovely) and flat irons to straighten my hair. Before i bought this flat iron i read the reviews here. I bought it last week from FABOVE. WOW!! Im still amazed. I was able to get my hair straight again after nearly one year of not using any kind of straightner (chemical or flat iron) in less than 30 mns. I used it at 450F which for my type of hair is ok. I woke up this morning and they were still straight. Im very happy with my purchase. I thought I would add my own review here.
