it is the best and most powerful epilator. I use it to remove my armpit hair. Painful? NOT really. Actually all hair removers hurt except for shaving. You definitely get used to after two or three times. Easy, fast, no messy, and long lasting result.

The Emjoi AP-18 Emagine is quite simply the best epilator I have ever used. It's easy to use, has plenty of power in its two power settings, and the 72 tweezer heads significantly reduce the amount of time epilating takes. Emjoi AP-18 takes under 10 minutes to do both legs. The hair removal isn't painful. The best one!

    Painless Product, 11.11.2009

The main advantage to this device is that it is by far the least painful compared to the Braun model I have.
However, for the price, I would have expected more for my money, such as a light to view the tiny hairs and making it cordless.
Pros: Painless, painless, painless!! Does not make me flinch when I do the Brazilian, the bag included was a good size. I use this empilator first and then follow up with the Braun epilator to catch the leftover hairs.
Cons: No light to catch the tiny / missing hairs, need to go over the same area over and over again, a bit bulky, way too much extra packaging for a small epilator (packed with recycled paper would have sufficed instead of plastic box and Styrofoam peanuts), it will take off bits of skin if not following the directions correctly
Overall, it is a good painless epilator. If I had to do it over again, I would have bought the less expensive emjoi - light caress instead. Shipping was great.

I just purchased the Emjoi Emagine and after using it I'm not convinced it's all it's made out to be here. I'd previously been using my friend's 10+ year old SilkEpil by Braun, and it works far better. It hurts a bit more, but it may be because it's actually ripping out hair, while the Emjoi misses a tonne.
On my machine, the tweezers close BEFORE they're flush with my skin. It works well on the underarms because that area is slightly curved. But for legs, it's quite crummy. Also, I've contacted Emjoi directly and no response from them. Fabove contacted them on my behalf, and their response was rather obtuse.

This is the third epilator that I have owned. The Emjoi Emagine is so much faster than the Braun or Epilady and grabs and removes the hairs that the other epilators missed. Love it and would highly recommend over Braun or Epilady.

I was concerned with the price I purchased a less expensive one and thought about the difference I returned the less expensive one and went with the Emjoi and am I glad I did. First time using I expect pain but I was so surprised there was nothing to it I did my bikini area and was amazed at how quickly and painless it actually was. This is a dream come true Emjoi Epilator is The Best.

I have used this twice already and LOVE it. It's much lighter than the previous one I bought 10 ish years ago, and does the job so fast! I am very satisfied and especially appreciate you sending it so quickly because I had tried others and no other compares - I had to have another of yours. Thank you

I bought this based on some raving reviews I found on youtube. I thought it might be too good to be true, but I got this about 3 days ago and it's PHENOMENAL. I've used it for EVERYTHING - underarms, bikini and legs. There is a pain threshold - I highly recommend taking a hot shower before you do this to soften the hairs and relax your pores. Solarcaine can help with numbing if you need it. The first time is probably the worst because you're pulling out the most hairs, but if you keep up with it then it's not so painful because you're pulling out less hair in one go. If you can get passed the first 30 seconds on really painful areas, the pain actually becomes less intense and more tolerable. Waxing my underarms and legs has been impossible for me, and this is such a great alternative. I'll never go back.
Don't expect to remove ALL your hair the first time. I wasn't really happy with my results the first time I did it, but the second and third time were very satisfying results like waxing (still not COMPLETELY hair free but getting there). Also, it's a lot less painful staggered like that - especially if you remove A LOT your first time.
The first time I did it, it did break off some of my hairs rather than removing them from the root. However, I let my hair grow for a bit specifically so that I could epilate as much as possible at one time. So I see the breaking off as almost inevitable, or user-error since I couldn't always epilate every single spot optimally. I've seriously only had this for about 3 days and it's awesome - it's less and less painful every time I do it. I'll keep doing it frequently until my hair cycle is more equalized (about 6 weeks or so) and then I expect to be able to go longer with the really smooth results I desire.

My sister has raved about her epilator for the longest time. So I decided to purchase this one. Being an epilator virgin, I attempted it after having a glass of wine to help numb the pain. I was quite surprised at how easy it ended up being. It does hurt a bit. I did my legs and even attempted the sides of my bikini line. Overall very pleased with this product :) And it shipped quite fast as well :)

I have quite alot of hairs, and tried shavers and other epilators. I had to to use shaver everyday to make me look clean. Epilators works better, but none powerful enough. Emagine is so far the best and most potent epilator. I am amazed that this worked on my dark coarse hair so well. I use only once every one or two weeks to keep me hair free! It is slightly painful and expensive. But the results are worth it! Great product.
